About the Role
Ascentech Services Limited is currently seeking a strategic and results-driven Fleet HOD (Head of Fleet) to oversee our comprehensive transportation and logistics operations. In this vital role, you will ensure the safe, efficient, and cost-effective movement of raw materials, finished goods, and personnel while managing a robust commercial fleet across Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Manage day-to-day fleet operations, vehicle allocation, dispatching, routing, and delivery schedules to maximize efficiency.
- Supervise, coordinate, and train all fleet drivers and transport personnel on safety standards and company policies.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules, overseeing repairs and liaising with approved workshops.
- Monitor fuel consumption, track fleet-related expenses, and implement cost-saving measures without compromising safety.
- Ensure full compliance with Nigerian road transportation regulations, vehicle registrations, and insurance requirements.
- Utilize GPS tracking and fleet management systems to monitor vehicle movements, mileage, and driver performance.
- Maintain accurate fleet registers, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and prepare comprehensive management reports.
- Bachelor's Degree or HND in Transport Management, Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or Engineering.
- 5 to 8+ years of relevant experience in fleet management and logistics within manufacturing, FMCG, or construction.
- Proven expertise in managing a large fleet of commercial trucks and heavy-duty vehicles.
- Deep understanding of vehicle maintenance, fuel control systems, and Nigerian road transport regulations.
- Strong proficiency in GPS tracking technology and fleet management software.
