About the Role
Jaza Energy is a pioneering last-mile energy company dedicated to building solar charging stations and renting batteries in off-grid communities. To support our rapid expansion across Nigeria, we are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Engineer (FSE) based in Lokoja, Kogi State. In this pivotal contract role, you will be instrumental in managing technical operations, optimizing system performance, and swiftly resolving issues at the regional level to guarantee uninterrupted power and robust energy uptime at our hubs.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure energy uptime and power availability by monitoring systems and quickly diagnosing and solving technical issues.
- Support the setup of new hubs, establish connectivity, and perform routine maintenance on hub energy systems through travel or remote troubleshooting.
- Oversee the installation and configuration of solar panels, electrical wiring, and associated equipment.
- Collaborate with local teams and the data team to diagnose and resolve complex technical challenges.
- Document field activities accurately and maintain comprehensive inventory records for hub equipment and product components.
- Prepare regular reports on hub health and technical issues for submission to the Regional Service Engineer.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field, though demonstrated hands-on experience is highly valued.
- 2 to 3 years of engineering experience within the renewable energy, telecommunications, or related sectors.
- Proven expertise in solar design, solar installation, solar inverter maintenance, electrical installation, and electrical design.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a commitment to maintaining high HSE standards and workplace safety.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and reporting software, including the MS Office suite and Google products.
- Ability to work independently, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and travel significantly within Nigeria.
