About the Role
Broadoaks British School is an esteemed all-through international institution located in the prestigious Maitama district of Abuja, Nigeria. Established in 2016, we provide a world-class British education from early years through to secondary level, following the National Curriculum for England and Wales, iGCSE, and Cambridge checkpoints. Our early years section, Teenee Todd's Day Nursery, caters to children aged 3 months to 4 years within a nurturing and stimulating environment based on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. We are currently seeking a passionate, enthusiastic, and qualified EYFS Teaching Assistant to support our educators and contribute to the holistic development of our young learners.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the lead teacher in delivering engaging, EYFS-aligned learning activities for infants and young children.
- Provide a safe, caring, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes social, emotional, and cognitive growth.
- Support children with daily routines, learning tasks, and play-based developmental activities.
- Observe student progress, maintain accurate developmental records, and assist with classroom management.
- Collaborate effectively with teaching staff, SEN specialists, and parents to support individual student needs.
- Prepare, organize, and maintain learning materials, classroom equipment, and play areas.
- Relevant professional qualifications in Early Childhood Education, Teaching, or a related field.
- Proven experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in an early childhood education setting, ideally within a British curriculum environment.
- A deep understanding of the EYFS framework and child development principles.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
