About the Role
Teestone Hotel & Apartments is a modern boutique hotel located in the peaceful neighborhood of Ikeja, just 15 minutes from Murtala Muhammed International Airport. We provide a stylish and welcoming environment for business travelers, vacationers, and guests catching early flights. We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Hotel Cook to prepare high-quality meals for our guests while maintaining excellent food safety and hygiene standards in our fast-paced kitchen.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and cook a wide variety of meals according to hotel menus, standardized recipes, and presentation guidelines.
- Ensure all dishes are prepared and presented to the highest quality standards, checking ingredients and finished products for freshness.
- Maintain absolute cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, workstations, storage areas, and equipment.
- Strictly follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations, adhering to health and safety policies at all times.
- Monitor food stock levels, assisting in receiving, storing, and properly rotating supplies to minimize waste and ensure cost efficiency.
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house staff to guarantee smooth daily hotel operations.
- Assist with menu development and special event catering when required by hotel management.
- Proven professional experience as a Cook, Line Chef, or similar role within a hotel, restaurant, or upscale hospitality environment in Nigeria.
- Strong working knowledge of diverse food preparation techniques, culinary best practices, and kitchen operations.
- Demonstrated understanding of local and international food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards.
- Ability to thrive, multitask, and work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, weekends, and public holidays as demanded by the hotel industry.
- Relevant culinary certification, catering school training, or hospitality diploma is an added advantage.
