About the Role
Living Treasure Academy is a prestigious private Christian educational institution located in the vibrant city of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. We are currently seeking a passionate, dedicated, and qualified Secondary English Teacher to join our esteemed academic team at our 5 Treasure Drive campus. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in cultivating students' literacy, critical thinking, and communication skills while upholding our core Christian values.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and comprehensive English language and literature lessons aligned with the secondary school curriculum.
- Assess, monitor, and record student progress, providing constructive feedback to support academic improvement and personal development.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and disciplined classroom environment that fosters active learning and moral uprightness.
- Encourage students to participate in extracurricular literary activities such as debates, essay competitions, and drama clubs.
- Collaborate with colleagues and school administration to develop effective teaching strategies and participate in school events and staff meetings.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and academic performance in accordance with school policies.
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), Bachelor of Arts (B.A), or Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in English Language, Literature-in-English, or a related field.
- A relevant teaching certification such as TRCN registration is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of proven teaching experience in a reputable secondary school setting.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a strong command of the English language.
