About the Role

Rugby School Nigeria, the prestigious Rugby School Group's third international sister school located in the world-class development of Eko Atlantic in Lagos, is seeking a dynamic and dedicated English Teacher. Set to open in September 2025 with an initial Sixth Form programme, our school synthesises the renowned British education system with rich Nigerian and African culture to create a transformative learning environment for students aged 11 to 18.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging and innovative English lessons following the British curriculum, specifically teaching iGCSE and A Level.
  • Inspire and motivate students aged 16 to 18 in the pioneering Sixth Form programme, expanding to younger cohorts for the full senior school opening in September 2026.
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, providing constructive feedback to support academic excellence.
  • Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and academically rigorous classroom atmosphere that celebrates diversity.
  • Participate actively in co-curricular activities, boarding life, and wider school community events.

Qualifications
  • A recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, B.Ed., or equivalent) with QTS.
  • Proven experience teaching English language and literature within the British curriculum, including iGCSE and A Level.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a passion for student development.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit a diverse, international student body in Lagos, Nigeria.
