About the Role

We are looking for a confident and engaging English Teacher with exceptional strength in Diction, Phonetics, Pronunciation, and Spoken English. The successful candidate will empower students to communicate clearly and effectively, fostering oral confidence alongside a strong command of the broader English Language curriculum.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver interactive English Language, Diction, and Spoken English lessons with a focus on phonetics, articulation, and rhythm.
  • Train students to speak English correctly and confidently across various formal and informal contexts.
  • Identify, address, and correct common pronunciation and speech errors among secondary students.
  • Coach students in public speaking, presentations, debates, and oral examinations.
  • Teach comprehensive grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, and composition.
  • Assess student progress, maintain accurate records, and prepare learners for internal and external examinations.
  • Integrate digital learning resources and maintain excellent classroom management within a supportive boarding environment.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in English, English Language, Literature in English, Education (English), Linguistics, or a related field.
  • Recognized teaching qualification and TRCN certification (or eligibility for registration) will be distinct advantages.
  • Proven secondary school teaching experience with a strong grasp of the Nigerian English curriculum.
  • Impeccable spoken English, demonstrably strong diction, and expertise in speech development.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and classroom management skills.
