About the Role
Discovering Talents Academy (DTA) offers first-class education from Preschool to Primary levels using a blended Nigerian-British curriculum. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English Language / Literacy Teacher to join our dynamic team in fostering a deep love for reading, writing, and language arts among our primary school pupils.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging literacy lessons aligned with the blended British-Nigerian curriculum.
- Implement the DTA SHRID niche, focusing on a love for reading, Nelson Handwriting, and correct diction.
- Design, administer, and evaluate formative and summative literacy assessments to track student progress.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and well-resourced classroom environment that encourages critical thinking and active participation.
- Provide individualized support and targeted interventions for students requiring additional literacy assistance.
- Collaborate with colleagues and participate in school events such as spelling bees and reading clubs.
- Bachelor's Degree in Education, English Language, Literature, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of proven experience teaching literacy in a primary school setting.
- Strong command of English grammar, phonics, diction, and handwriting techniques.
