About the Role

Discovering Talents Academy (DTA) offers first-class education from Preschool to Primary levels using a blended Nigerian-British curriculum. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English Language / Literacy Teacher to join our dynamic team in fostering a deep love for reading, writing, and language arts among our primary school pupils.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging literacy lessons aligned with the blended British-Nigerian curriculum.
  • Implement the DTA SHRID niche, focusing on a love for reading, Nelson Handwriting, and correct diction.
  • Design, administer, and evaluate formative and summative literacy assessments to track student progress.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and well-resourced classroom environment that encourages critical thinking and active participation.
  • Provide individualized support and targeted interventions for students requiring additional literacy assistance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and participate in school events such as spelling bees and reading clubs.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Education, English Language, Literature, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of proven experience teaching literacy in a primary school setting.
  • Strong command of English grammar, phonics, diction, and handwriting techniques.
  • Exceptional classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to holistic child development and inclusive teaching practices.
