About the Role
Moniepoint is a leading financial technology company digitising Africa’s real economy by building a comprehensive financial ecosystem for businesses. As an Engineering Manager, you will lead high-performing teams, drive end-to-end technical execution, and ensure the delivery of robust payment, banking, and credit tools. You will bridge the gap between business requirements and technical implementation, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Own end-to-end delivery and execution across cross-functional teams, ensuring predictable and high-quality outcomes.
- Translate business and product requirements into well-defined EPICs, technical user stories, and actionable tasks.
- Partner with Product Managers and UX Designers to groom, prioritize, and refine the product backlog.
- Drive sprint planning, establish delivery milestones, and proactively manage cross-team dependencies.
- Maintain high engineering standards through code reviews, architectural alignment, and robust monitoring practices.
- Manage team capacity, resource allocation, and velocity to optimize performance and prevent bottlenecks.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 8 to 10 years of experience as a Software Developer, Software Engineer, or in a similar technical role.
- Minimum of 5 years building production systems using Java and Spring Boot.
- At least 3 years of proven engineering leadership experience managing high-performing teams.
- Strong expertise in Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and backend engineering.
- Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
