About the Role
VAVA Furniture is a leading and fully registered furniture and interior decoration company in Nigeria, renowned for delivering exceptional value and quality craftsmanship. We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Electrician to join our dynamic technical team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the seamless operation of our electrical systems, equipment, and project sites, contributing directly to our daily productivity and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, lighting systems, sockets, switches, distribution boards, and related equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical faults efficiently and carry out necessary repairs to minimize downtime.
- Conduct routine inspections and proactive preventive maintenance across all company electrical infrastructure.
- Install and maintain generators, power distribution setups, and auxiliary electrical components as required.
- Ensure all electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs strictly comply with national and organizational safety standards.
- Respond promptly to electrical faults, sudden power breakdowns, and emergency maintenance requests.
- Keep accurate records of electrical maintenance activities, repairs, material usage, and equipment inventory.
- Collaborate closely with the Facility Manager, maintenance team, contractors, and other technical staff.
- Maintain all electrical tools, testing equipment, and machinery in safe and optimal working conditions.
- Minimum of an OND, Trade Test Certificate, Technical Certificate, or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Installation, or a related field.
- At least 2 to 3 years of proven professional experience working as an Electrician in a structured environment.
- Demonstrated practical knowledge of electrical installations, domestic and industrial wiring, fault finding, and maintenance.
- Ability to accurately read and interpret basic electrical drawings, blueprints, and schematic diagrams.
- Comprehensive understanding of electrical safety procedures, hazard identification, and safe working practices.
- Proficiency in utilizing various electrical testing tools and diagnostic equipment effectively.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting capabilities.
