About the Role
The Dangote Group, Africa's leading diversified business conglomerate, is seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to join our dynamic team in Lagos, Nigeria. In this critical role, you will maintain, inspect, and repair packaging machines and conveyor systems to ensure optimal performance, operational efficiency, and minimal equipment downtime across our manufacturing facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out repairs and maintenance of electrical systems, equipment, and components, including wiring, fixtures, and appliances.
- Troubleshoot electrical faults, identify root causes, and implement appropriate corrective actions to restore equipment functionality.
- Perform routine inspections, cleaning, and preventive maintenance of electrical and instrumentation equipment, particularly packaging machinery.
- Monitor and oversee utility equipment to ensure proper functioning and minimise production disruptions.
- Maintain accurate records of electrical maintenance activities, including maintenance logs, inspection reports, and service records.
- Report equipment malfunctions and electrical faults to supervisors promptly for timely resolution.
- Respond to emergency calls and maintenance requests to resolve electrical issues and minimise operational downtime.
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to coordinate maintenance activities and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
- Comply with established safety procedures, regulations, and applicable occupational health and safety standards.
- Minimum of SSCE, Technical certificate, or Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in an Engineering or Science field.
- At least eight (8) years of relevant electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles with the ability to read and interpret electrical drawings.
- Proficiency in using tools and technologies for electrical repairs and maintenance.
