About the Role

Mikano International, Nigeria's foremost power solutions provider, is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer, Panel Builder to join our expanding manufacturing team in Lagos. In this vital role, you will be responsible for designing, assembling, wiring, testing, and commissioning high-quality electrical control panels and switchboards to support our state-of-the-art power generation and steel fabrication divisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and panel layout specifications prior to commencement.
  • Assemble and wire various electrical enclosures including control panels, distribution boards, Motor Control Center (MCC) panels, and automation systems.
  • Install panel-mounted components such as circuit breakers, contactors, relays, PLCs, VFDs, transformers, and power supplies following strict safety standards.
  • Execute precise panel fabrication tasks including enclosure preparation, drilling, DIN rail installation, trunking, and professional cable management.
  • Perform comprehensive electrical tests, including continuity checks, insulation resistance, point-to-point testing, and functional assessments on completed panels.
  • Ensure all assembly and wiring activities comply with approved engineering designs, company quality guidelines, and industry safety codes.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor Degree or HND in Electrical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 3 to 5 years of proven professional experience in electrical panel building, industrial installation, control panel assembly, and testing.
  • Strong practical expertise in wiring control panels, MCCs, distribution boards, and industrial electrical enclosures.
  • Demonstrated ability to accurately interpret complex electrical schematics and technical layout drawings.
  • Relevant professional certifications or specialized training in industrial automation, PLCs, VFDs, and control systems will be an added advantage.
  • Thorough understanding of electrical safety standards, codes, and best engineering practices within a manufacturing environment.
