About the Role
Chevron, one of Nigeria's leading energy producers, is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious professional to join our team as an EGTL Utilities Console Operator. In this vital role based at our Escravos facility, you will support reliable plant operations by managing critical utility systems, including steam generation, water treatment, and power generation, ensuring all processes remain strictly within safe operating limits.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and monitor the EGTL console to execute daily shift plans, facility start-ups, and controlled equipment shutdowns.
- Manage plant process upsets and emergency situations swiftly by applying advanced technical competencies.
- Collaborate with technical and maintenance teams to optimize the performance of control devices and process systems.
- Develop, review, and update standard operating and emergency procedures for assigned operational areas.
- Report abnormal conditions and equipment deviations promptly to ensure maximum asset availability.
- Conduct routine operator duties, maintain high standards of asset integrity, and complete detailed shift turnover notes.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a qualified Field Operator in a refinery, petrochemical, or similar complex process facility.
- Higher National Diploma (HND) or Bachelor degree from a recognized institution.
- Successful completion of a Formal Operator Training Program (FOTP) and Qualification Review Board (QRB) requirements.
- Demonstrated knowledge of process safety hazards, risk assessment, and effective mitigation strategies.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a commitment to team collaboration and feedback.
- OPITO certification or similar industry-recognized craft certifications represent a distinct advantage.
