About the Role
Stella Maris High School, a prestigious private educational institution in Abuja, is currently seeking a passionate and qualified Economics Teacher to join our dynamic academic team. In this role, you will inspire senior secondary students by bringing economic principles to life, helping them develop analytical skills, interpret economic data, and understand real-world financial systems while maintaining our high standards of academic excellence and character-building.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and deliver comprehensive Economics lessons in accordance with the approved Nigerian curriculum.
- Teach core topics including demand and supply, market structures, inflation, unemployment, and national income.
- Utilize graphs, charts, case studies, and contemporary real-life examples to enhance student comprehension.
- Successfully prepare students for internal assessments as well as external examinations such as WAEC and NECO.
- Develop detailed lesson plans, administer and mark assessments, and thoroughly analyze student academic results.
- Maintain accurate academic records and proactively monitor individual student progress.
- Encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and lively, informed discussions regarding current economic issues.
- Integrate digital learning resources effectively into daily classroom instruction.
- Possess a Bachelor's degree in Economics, Economics Education, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of proven teaching experience at the senior secondary school level.
- Valid Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) license is mandatory.
- Demonstrated success in preparing students for WAEC and NECO examinations.
- Strong communication, analytical, and advanced classroom management skills.
