About the Role
Pacific International Drilling S.A. is currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Dynamic Positioning Officer (DPO) to join our growing offshore drilling operations in Nigeria. Operating one of the most technologically advanced and newest ultra-deepwater fleets in the world, we deliver premium drilling services to the global oil and natural gas industry while maintaining an unwavering commitment to safety, integrity, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Safely operate and monitor the Dynamic Positioning (DP) system on high-specification drillships in compliance with company procedures and international maritime standards.
- Maintain thorough records in the bridge logbook, DP logs, and ensure all station-keeping operations are executed without incident.
- Collaborate closely with the Offshore Installation Manager, Master, and marine crew during critical offshore operations.
- Conduct routine testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of DP equipment and associated sensors.
- Participate actively in safety meetings, hazard identification, and risk assessments aboard the vessel.
- Bachelor degree in Marine Transportation preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience working on DP vessels within an industrial marine environment.
- Valid Unlimited DPO certificate issued by the Nautical Institute.
- Hold a USCG Unlimited Tonnage Any Oceans Third Mates License or recognized international equivalent.
- Possess a Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE), WAEC, or GCE O'Level, alongside an OND, HND, or B.Sc. qualification.
- Must be a Nigerian resident currently residing in Nigeria with valid travel and work documentation.
