About the Role
Cedar Grillz & Lounge is a contemporary food and lifestyle destination offering delicious meals, premium grills, refreshing drinks, and a relaxed lounge experience. We are currently looking for a dynamic and experienced Disc Jockey (DJ) to curate and control the music and atmosphere across our restaurant, lounge, and open-air space. You will deliver smooth, well-paced sets that transition seamlessly from relaxed dinner vibes to high-energy nights, establishing the distinct sound identity of our brand.
Key Responsibilities- Perform professional live sets across Afrobeats, Amapiano, hip-hop, R&B, Highlife, Afro-fusion, dancehall, house, and throwbacks.
- Design the music flow of each evening by reading and adapting dynamically to the crowd's energy.
- Plan engaging themed nights, coordinate guest DJ sets, and curate soundtracks for special events.
- Coordinate music cues seamlessly with the floor, bar, gaming, and management teams.
- Maintain an organized, extensive, and legally sourced music library.
- Set up, operate, and properly maintain the DJ booth, sound systems, and venue lighting equipment.
- Create captivating short mixes and social media content in collaboration with the marketing team.
- Manage sound levels responsibly and uphold professional conduct at all times.
- Minimum of SSCE/WAEC/NECO with a credit in English; OND, HND, or a degree in a related field is an added advantage.
- 3 to 5 years of professional DJ experience working in reputable clubs, lounges, restaurants, or high-end events.
- Proficiency with industry-standard software and hardware including Serato, Rekordbox, or Traktor.
- Proven ability to read a crowd, build energy, and maintain crowd engagement throughout the night.
- Must be at least 21 years of age with a stylish, brand-aligned personal presentation.
- Must provide a robust portfolio of recorded mixes, live-set videos, and professional references.
