About the Role
MEV Specialist Hospital is a renowned private healthcare facility located in Wuse 2, Abuja, dedicated to providing top-tier medical and specialized services. We are currently seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and detail-oriented Dental Therapist to join our clinical team on a 3-month locum contract from October 12th to January 12th, working Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Key Responsibilities- Perform clinical dental procedures including scaling and polishing, routine extractions, basic restorative fillings, and teeth whitening.
- Conduct thorough oral health assessments and formulate personalized preventive care plans for patients.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene, nutrition, gum treatments, and dental disease prevention.
- Safely administer local anesthesia within the authorized scope of practice.
- Take and process high-quality intraoral dental radiographs to assist in accurate diagnoses.
- Maintain strict sterilization and infection control standards throughout the clinic.
- Ensure accurate, comprehensive, and confidential maintenance of patient records.
- Support senior dentists during complex dental procedures as required.
- Possession of a Higher National Diploma (HND) or Bachelor Degree in Dental Therapy from a recognized institution.
- Valid practicing license and current registration with the Dental Therapists Registration Board of Nigeria (DTRBN).
- Minimum of 1 to 2 years of hands-on clinical experience as a Dental Therapist.
- Demonstrated proficiency in prophylactic treatments, operative dentistry, and dental radiography.
- Exceptional interpersonal, patient communication, and time management skills.
- Full availability to commit to the Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM schedule for the 3-month contract duration.
