About the Role
AIICO Insurance Plc, Nigeria's largest life insurer and a market leader in financial services, is looking for a talented Data & Analytics Engineer to join our growing technology and data team in Lagos. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping our enterprise data strategy, building scalable data pipelines, and transforming raw data into actionable insights that power business intelligence and actuarial reporting.
Key Responsibilities- Design, build, and optimize robust ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, dbt, and Airflow for seamless data orchestration.
- Maintain and scale the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) to serve as the single source of truth for analytics and advanced modeling.
- Manage organization-wide data collection and automated outputs for IFRS17 actuarial evaluations.
- Develop, test, and document scalable dbt models to transform raw data into analytics-ready datasets.
- Implement rigorous data governance, data quality checks, and CI/CD workflows utilizing Git and Azure DevOps.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including actuaries, data analysts, and business stakeholders to define KPIs and deliver impactful BI solutions.
- Design predictive analytics and machine learning models to support strategic business decisions.
- Possession of a Bachelor's degree (B.Sc) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 to 4 years of hands-on professional experience in data engineering or analytics engineering.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python for data manipulation and pipeline development.
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts, ETL tools, version control (Git), and cloud data environments.
