About the Role
Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital (NAUTH), Nnewi, is a premier federal tertiary healthcare institution dedicated to providing exceptional patient care, advanced medical training, and groundbreaking research. We are currently seeking a dynamic, highly skilled, and dedicated Consultant Special Grade I in Internal Medicine to strengthen our clinical departments. In this prominent role, you will provide expert medical care, mentor resident doctors, and contribute to the continuous improvement of healthcare delivery in Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Provide specialized medical care and diagnosis for patients within the Internal Medicine department.
- Supervise, train, and mentor resident doctors, medical officers, and medical students.
- Participate actively in multidisciplinary medical boards, clinical ward rounds, and hospital committees.
- Conduct clinical research and contribute to academic publications to advance the field of internal medicine.
- Ensure compliance with hospital standards, safety protocols, and medical ethics.
- Manage complex medical cases and provide emergency consultations when required.
- Possession of a Fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (FMCPath, FMCP, etc.) or Fellowship of the West African Post-Graduate Medical College (FWACP).
- Current and valid practicing license issued by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
- Mandatory NYSC discharge certificate or valid exemption certificate.
- Demonstrated clinical experience in Internal Medicine will be considered a strong added advantage.
