About the Role
The African Medical Centre of Excellence (AMCE) Abuja is a premier 500-bed specialty hospital committed to delivering world-class, comprehensive healthcare across West Africa. Developed in clinical partnership with King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, we offer cutting-edge diagnostics and treatments in cardiology, oncology, and more. We are currently looking for an exceptional Consultant Interventional Cardiologist to lead our cardiovascular services, providing advanced catheter-based interventions and driving clinical excellence in a patient-first environment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform complex catheter-based interventions, including diagnostic right and left heart catheterizations, primary PCI, and structural heart procedures such as TAVI, Mitral Clip, and ASD/VSD closures.
- Provide comprehensive clinical care, taking full ownership of patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and post-procedural follow-up.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary medical teams to ensure timely, high-quality patient service delivery and meet departmental objectives.
- Participate actively in clinical research, strategic departmental development, and the establishment of innovative interventional cardiology techniques.
- Ensure strict adherence to clinical governance, resource utilization, and statutory regulatory compliance standards.
- Medical Degree (MBBS, MBBCh, MD) from a recognized and accredited medical institution.
- Completed recognized Fellowship or Residency training in Cardiology.
- Minimum of 5 years of extensive, demonstrable experience as a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist.
- Valid practicing license to legally practice medicine in Nigeria.
- Specialized skills training in percutaneous coronary intervention, with electrophysiology experience considered a strong advantage.
