About the Role
The African Medical Centre of Excellence (AMCE) Abuja is a premier 500-bed specialty hospital developed by Afreximbank in clinical partnership with Kings College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. We are dedicated to providing world-class comprehensive diagnostics and advanced medical and surgical services across Africa. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Consultant General Surgery professional to drive clinical excellence, research, and education within our expanding surgical department.
Key Responsibilities- Provide consultant-level management for a diverse range of elective and emergency general surgical conditions.
- Perform complex general surgical procedures independently while ensuring optimal patient safety and outcomes.
- Lead outpatient clinics, ward rounds, multidisciplinary team meetings, and emergency surgical reviews.
- Supervise, mentor, and teach junior medical staff, medical students, and clinical trainees.
- Drive clinical governance, quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and adherence to evidence-based protocols.
- Minimum of 5 years of post-fellowship experience practising as a Consultant General Surgeon.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing complex elective and emergency surgical cases.
- Strong commitment to clinical governance, patient-centred care, and multidisciplinary teamwork.
- Active relevant professional licensure and registration to practise in Nigeria.
