About the Role
The African Medical Centre of Excellence (AMCE) Abuja is a premier 500-bed specialty hospital committed to transforming healthcare across the continent through advanced diagnostics, specialist treatments, and cutting-edge education in partnership with King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. We are currently seeking a dynamic and dedicated Consultant General Paediatrician to provide expert clinical leadership, mentor junior medical staff, and drive exceptional standards of patient-centered care for infants, children, and adolescents.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert diagnosis, comprehensive treatment, and management of acute and chronic paediatric conditions across inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Lead and oversee paediatric emergency care, including the resuscitation and stabilization of critically ill children.
- Supervise, mentor, and train junior doctors, medical officers, and paediatric residents while conducting regular ward rounds and case conferences.
- Drive quality assurance, clinical governance, clinical audits, and the implementation of evidence-based paediatric protocols.
- Contribute to departmental research, continuous medical education, and hospital-wide strategic health initiatives.
- Medical Degree (MBBS/MBChB or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
- Fellowship in Paediatrics from the WACP, NPMCN, or an equivalent international board certification.
- Full registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) alongside a valid practicing license.
- Minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience with substantial clinical practice at a specialist or consultant level.
- Demonstrated expertise in paediatrics, neonatology, and paediatric oncology with a strong commitment to multidisciplinary teamwork.
