About the Role
The African Medical Centre of Excellence (AMCE) Abuja is a premier 500-bed specialty hospital developed by Afreximbank in clinical partnership with King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. We are seeking a dedicated Consultant Cardiologist to deliver exceptional inpatient and outpatient cardiovascular care, lead multidisciplinary clinical teams, and drive the strategic growth of our cardiology services.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive cardiovascular assessments, manage acute and chronic conditions, and develop personalized treatment plans.
- Lead multidisciplinary team meetings with cardiac surgeons, intensivists, and anesthetists to optimize complex patient care.
- Participate in clinical research, quality improvement initiatives, and the implementation of innovative cardiac technologies.
- Mentor junior medical staff, residents, and fellows while supporting interprofessional education programs.
- Ensure strict compliance with clinical governance frameworks, statutory regulations, and departmental quality assurance standards.
- Medical Degree (MBBCh, MD) from a recognized institution with a valid practicing license.
- Completed Fellowship in Cardiology from an accredited college or institution.
- Minimum of 5 years of post-fellowship clinical experience in a hospital cardiology setting.
- Demonstrated proficiency in invasive and non-invasive cardiac procedures such as angiography, echocardiography, and interventions.
- Strong leadership skills with a proven track record in multidisciplinary collaboration and academic research.
