Shehu Shagari Model Islamic Centre (SSMIC) is a prominent integrated educational institution located at the Shehu Shagari Central Mosque, Area 1, Section 2, Garki, Abuja. We serve as a beacon of academic excellence and spiritual development, blending the conventional Nigerian educational curriculum with profound Islamic and moral guidance. We are currently seeking a dedicated, passionate, and skilled Computer Science Teacher to join our esteemed secondary school faculty and inspire the next generation of tech-savvy leaders.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging, comprehensive, and interactive Computer Science lessons to secondary school students in alignment with the Nigerian educational curriculum.
- Develop and update lesson plans, instructional materials, and scheme of work for various grade levels.
- Supervise practical computer laboratory sessions, ensuring students gain hands-on proficiency in coding, software applications, and basic hardware.
- Assess, evaluate, and track student academic progress through regular quizzes, assignments, projects, and examinations.
- Foster a disciplined, safe, and inclusive learning environment that promotes both intellectual curiosity and strong moral values.
- Participate in school extracurricular activities, tech clubs, staff meetings, and professional development workshops.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student performance, behavior, and academic development.
- Possession of a Bachelor Degree (B.Sc, B.Ed) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related relevant field.
- Minimum of three (3) years of proven teaching experience in Computer Science at the secondary school level.
- Strong passion for education with a solid understanding of modern pedagogical techniques and educational technology.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
- Alignment with the Islamic ethos and moral standards upheld by the institution.
- Teaching certification (such as TRCN) will be an added advantage.
