About the Role
Rand Merchant Bank (RMB), a division of FirstRand Bank Limited, is a leading African corporate and investment bank offering innovative advisory, funding, trading, and corporate banking solutions. We are currently looking for a strategic and detail-oriented Compliance Manager to join our dynamic team in Nigeria. In this pivotal role, you will drive, coordinate, and monitor compliance initiatives, ensuring the bank operates in strict accordance with Nigerian and South African banking laws, regulatory frameworks, and financial crime standards.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain the comprehensive regulatory and compliance universe, including annual monitoring plans and Risk Management Plans (RMPs) for review by the Board and Executive Committee.
- Ensure all regulatory risk frameworks, policies, and standards remain current, effectively communicating AML/CFT/CPF requirements across the business.
- Conduct robust ML/FT/PF risk assessments for new products, branches, and external audits, while overseeing the bank-wide financial crime training program.
- Implement the Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC) roadmap, establishing a resilient control environment and monitoring remediation findings.
- Manage comprehensive regulatory, risk management committee, and Group Office reporting requirements on a monthly and quarterly basis.
- Collaborate with internal audit functions and regulators to manage BCBS239 compliance and address regulatory risk findings proactively.
- University First Degree in Arts, Social Sciences, or a related discipline; relevant professional certifications such as ACAMS, ICA, or CFE are required.
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in a similar compliance or regulatory role within the banking or financial services sector.
- Deep working knowledge of CBN, SEC, FMDQ, and Nigerian Stock Exchange regulations, as well as global banking regulatory frameworks.
- Exceptional analytical skills with high attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, and an uncompromising commitment to integrity.
