About the Role
GIZ Nigeria is seeking a skilled and passionate Communications Specialist to support the Skills Development for Youth Employment (SKYE II) programme. In this role, you will play a vital part in shaping public perception, enhancing project visibility, and communicating our impact on sustainable economic development, TVET systems, and youth empowerment across Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and disseminate compelling internal and external communication products, including briefs, newsletters, factsheets, and presentations.
- Create engaging impact stories, videos, and campaign content in collaboration with project teams and local partners.
- Manage timely social media communications, content scheduling, and digital engagement strategies aligned with project objectives.
- Support high-profile events with visibility measures, professional photography, videography, and comprehensive media coverage.
- Coordinate external service providers, consultants, and agencies while ensuring adherence to GIZ quality standards and branding guidelines.
- Track communication metrics, media mentions, and product inventories to provide regular updates for management and reporting.
- University degree in Communications, Journalism, Media Studies, Public Relations, Political Science, or a related discipline (Master's degree is an asset).
- At least 5 years of professional experience in strategic communication, content production, and visibility, preferably within international development.
- Proven expertise in producing high-quality multimedia content, managing social media channels, and handling event communications.
- Demonstrated experience in managing external vendors, drafting terms of reference, and ensuring timely project delivery.
- Strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal English communication abilities, and cross-cultural competence.
