About the Role
The Green Environment and Climate Change Initiative (GRENCHI) is seeking a dynamic and creative Communications and Media Officer to amplify our voice and drive environmental conservation efforts across Nigeria. In this role, you will serve as the primary technical resource for our communications team, enhancing our brand visibility and supporting vital climate change programs.
Key Responsibilities- Support the development and execution of GRENCHI’s communication strategy and annual work plans.
- Manage and optimize digital and social media channels to increase stakeholder engagement.
- Create high-quality multimedia content including videos, photography, graphic designs, and blog posts.
- Oversee website management, applying SEO best practices to boost online visibility and search rankings.
- Conduct interviews and document compelling impact stories from project beneficiaries and partners.
- Design branded materials such as newsletters, annual reports, brochures, and factsheets.
- Maintain a robust media contact database and proactively engage journalists to promote organizational milestones.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Media Studies, Journalism, Public Relations, Environmental Studies, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years of progressive experience in communications, ideally within the NGO or environmental sector.
- Demonstrable portfolio showcasing exceptional multimedia production, graphic design, and storytelling skills.
- Proficiency in managing major social media platforms and implementing basic SEO strategies.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
