About the Role
Oasis Africa Consulting is a strategic Human Capital management partner delivering cutting-edge solutions across Africa. We are currently recruiting a dynamic and results-driven Commercial Manager to oversee our tin and technology minerals portfolio. In this pivotal role, you will spearhead commercial strategy, market expansion, and hands-on field operations, ensuring ethical sourcing and maximizing profitability across our mining and trading activities.
Key Responsibilities- Drive commercial strategies, price discovery, and the negotiation of domestic and export sales, spot sales, and off-take agreements.
- Manage robust, traceable, and compliant field sourcing networks for base and precious metals from Artisanal and Small-Scale Miners (ASM) and cooperatives.
- Ensure all procurement and trading activities strictly adhere to Responsible Sourcing, KYC, AML, and Nigerian Mining Act regulations.
- Collaborate with mine managers and geologists to align production plans with market demand, minimizing inventory holding costs and maximizing cash flow.
- Oversee logistics, secure transport, assaying, grading, and customs documentation for mineral exports.
- Prepare comprehensive commercial reports, financial forecasts, and budgetary controls for executive leadership.
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, Metallurgy, Mineral Economics, Business Administration, or Finance; an MBA is an advantage.
- 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in mining, mineral trading, metals marketing, or commercial management, with 3 to 5 years in a senior role.
- Deep expertise in mineral pricing, concentrate specifications, smelting terms, and international commodity markets.
- Strong knowledge of mineral grading, assaying techniques, and Nigeria's mining and export regulations.
- Exceptional negotiation, leadership, and field resilience, with a willingness to travel to remote mining locations.
- Fluency in English, with proficiency in Hausa and/or Yoruba being a major advantage.
