About the Role
FairMoney is a leading digital financial platform in Nigeria, empowering individuals and businesses with instant loans and banking services through our mobile application. As we continue to expand our SME and merchant lending operations, we are looking for a dedicated Collections Specialist based in Abuja to join our risk and collections team. In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining portfolio health by effectively managing delinquent accounts while upholding our commitment to professional customer service.
Key Responsibilities- Engage defaulting SME customers, merchants, and agents through telephone calls, emails, and other approved communication channels to demand payment on overdue accounts.
- Maintain accurate daily activity logs detailing the number of calls made, right party contacts achieved, promises to pay secured, and broken promises.
- Verify and update information on overdue arrears, conducting consistent follow-ups to ensure commitment tracking.
- Negotiate effective payment plans and settlement arrangements that prevent accounts from rolling forward into deeper delinquency.
- Track incoming payments diligently by following up on pending promises to pay and reconciling account statuses.
- University degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or any related field.
- Minimum of 1 year of professional experience in consumer or SME loan operations, specifically dealing with delinquent clients and conflict resolution.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data management tools.
- High level of self-motivation with exceptional interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
