About the Role

De Mould Academy is a leading educational institution in Enugu State dedicated to academic excellence, moral integrity, and the holistic development of every child. We are currently seeking a passionate, knowledgeable, and creative Civic Education and Social Studies Teacher to inspire our junior and senior secondary school students. In this role, you will help students develop a robust understanding of Nigerian governance, democratic values, human rights, social responsibility, and community engagement within a supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality, interactive Civic Education and Social Studies lessons aligned with the NERDC curriculum.
  • Set, grade, and return assignments, quizzes, and examinations promptly, offering constructive feedback to foster continuous student improvement.
  • Prepare students thoroughly for external examinations including WAEC, NECO, and BECE.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date academic records, including attendance registers, lesson notes, and continuous assessment scores.
  • Monitor individual student progress and provide tailored academic support to address diverse learning needs.
  • Contribute to the development of schemes of work, lesson plans, and departmental teaching resources.
  • Organise and actively participate in civic-themed school activities, debates, and awareness programmes.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues during staff meetings, school events, and parent-teacher conferences.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of an NCE in Social Studies, Civic Education, or a related discipline.
  • Bachelor's degree (B.Ed., B.A., or B.Sc.) in Social Studies, Political Science, Geography, or Economics Education is strongly preferred.
  • Valid NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate for degree holders.
  • Minimum of 2 years of proven teaching experience at the secondary school level.
  • In-depth knowledge of the NERDC secondary school curriculum.
  • Exceptional communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Possession of a PGDE or equivalent professional teaching qualification is an added advantage.
