About the Role
Pan-Afrique Maritime Limited, a wholly indigenous Nigerian maritime company specializing in ship management and crewing, is seeking a skilled and dedicated Chief Engineer to join our fleet operations. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of all marine engineering systems onboard our vessels, ensuring full compliance with national and international maritime regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and manage the operation of all main engines, auxiliary machinery, and engineering systems onboard.
- Conduct routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and major overhauls of vessel engines including Wartsila, Niigata, Caterpillar, and Bergen models.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety management systems, environmental protection policies, and regulatory standards.
- Monitor fuel consumption, manage engineering spares, and maintain accurate machinery logs and records.
- Lead and mentor junior engine room crew members to ensure high operational standards and safety awareness.
- Minimum of 2 years of proven sailing experience as a Chief Engineer operating on Conventional Tugs.
- Demonstrated hands-on engine experience with Wartsila, Niigata, Caterpillar, and Bergen propulsion systems.
- Possession of relevant maritime certifications and valid statutory documents in accordance with NIMASA regulations.
