About the Role

The Sahara Centre (TSC) is a Lagos-based non-profit organisation dedicated to exploring how indigenous knowledge systems can drive innovation and development across Africa. We connect communities, policymakers, and creators to design sustainable solutions rooted in African wisdom. We are currently seeking a dynamic professional to join our team as a Centre Coordinator, with exceptional candidates eligible for direct appointment as Centre Manager. Reporting to the Executive Director, you will own the delivery of our programmes, research, communications, and operations while leading our fundraising and partnership efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the Centre’s delivery calendar and ensure seamless cross-functional coordination across research, programmes, communications, and operations.
  • Identify, pursue, and manage the full lifecycle of grants and strategic partnerships, including proposal development and compliance.
  • Source, negotiate with, and manage vendors, contractors, and event logistics to ensure high-standard execution of Centre convenings.
  • Track project timelines, deliverables, and potential risks, escalating issues with recommended solutions to the Executive Director.

Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Development Studies, or a related field, alongside a recognised project management certification.
  • 3 to 5 years of proven experience in project, programme, or operations management within a research, policy, or development organisation.
  • Demonstrated success in grant acquisition, institutional partnership management, and budget oversight.
  • Exceptional abilities in independent execution, vendor negotiation, and managing multiple concurrent deadlines.
