About the Role
Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Cargo Supervisor to join our dynamic operations. In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for operational matters, taking direct responsibility for managing cargo warehouse operations and freighter ramps at the appointed station. You will plan and oversee key activities, routes, and products while focusing on defined performance requirements regarding OTP, eAWB, Cargo iQ, SLAs, and safety standards to ensure the secure and timely delivery of all shipments.
Key Responsibilities- Drive and improve freighter On-Time Performance (OTP) by effectively supervising ramp coordination and freighter operations.
- Plan and deliver complex cargo loads for passenger and freighter operations while coaching and training Ground Handling Agent (GHA) staff.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure all cargo operations comply with safety management systems (SMS), security regulations, and company procedures.
- Establish best practices to achieve revenue budgets, support service delivery, and drive cost savings.
- Manage special services, VIP shipments, and high-profile cargo meticulously from acceptance to final customer delivery.
- Handle financial tasks including raising PRs, POs, and GRNs in SAP and verifying supplier invoices against contracts.
- Escalate medium-to-high-level risks promptly to the appropriate management personnel.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in cargo operations or a similar capacity.
- High school diploma required; higher education is a plus.
- Strong familiarity with cargo handling processes, procedures, and regulatory compliance expectations.
- Excellent standard of verbal and written English communication skills.
- Proficiency in computer airfreight specifications and systems.
- Industry certifications in Dangerous Goods, Cargo Operations, Security, Quality, or Auditor training are highly advantageous.
