About the Role
Perfetti Van Melle, a global leader in the confectionery industry and producer of beloved brands such as Mentos and Chupa Chups, is looking for a dynamic and results-driven Buyer (Indirect) to join our team in Nigeria. In this role, you will play a crucial part in optimizing our supply chain operations by managing the procurement of indirect goods and services, ensuring high quality, and maximizing value for the company.
Key Responsibilities- Organise and implement the purchase of indirect items, including spare parts, services, and stationery items.
- Negotiate competitive pricing, favorable contractual terms, and conditions with vendors.
- Identify ethical suppliers and recognized sourcing channels for parts and services.
- Research, compare, and analyze quotes to ensure the company achieves the best possible value for its resources.
- Maintain an up-to-date database of approved suppliers and monitor supplier performance metrics such as delivery timeliness and product quality.
- Prepare comprehensive budgets, cost analyses, and regular reports.
- Provide professional guidance to internal user departments and collaborate cross-functionally to achieve business objectives.
- Prepare and share weekly performance reports with the line manager.
- BSc or HND in Engineering, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Relevant professional certification, such as CIPS, will be an added advantage.
- At least 5 years of post-NYSC relevant work experience in a similar procurement position.
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and time-management skills.
- Strong data analytics capabilities with the ability to translate business performance data into meaningful results.
