About the Role
Holy Child College, FCT Abuja, a prestigious Catholic co-educational full boarding school, is seeking a competent and passionate Business Studies Teacher to join our esteemed academic community. In this role, you will deliver engaging lessons that help students develop practical business knowledge, entrepreneurial thinking, financial awareness, and critical problem-solving skills. You will guide students through the approved curriculum while connecting classroom learning to real-life business situations, fostering both academic excellence and strong character formation.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and deliver engaging Business Studies lessons in Commerce, Office Practice, Bookkeeping, and Entrepreneurship in line with the approved curriculum.
- Make lessons practical by relating economic and business concepts to real-life situations and the Nigerian business environment.
- Teach basic principles of buying, selling, trade, banking, savings, budgeting, and responsible financial management.
- Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, classwork, assignments, tests, and examinations to effectively assess student progress.
- Identify students requiring additional support and provide appropriate academic intervention.
- Encourage critical thinking, creativity, and decision-making while utilizing digital resources to enhance learning.
- Maintain effective classroom management and a positive, disciplined learning environment.
- Participate actively in departmental meetings, school activities, co-curricular programmes, and community events.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Education, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, Commerce, or a related field.
- A recognized teaching qualification is an added advantage.
- TRCN certification or eligibility for immediate registration is highly preferred.
- Proven teaching experience at the secondary school level with a strong grasp of the Nigerian curriculum.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
- Good ICT skills and willingness to integrate technology into modern teaching methods.
