About the Role
NLNG Ship Management Limited (NSML), an international maritime services company, is seeking a dynamic and analytical professional to join our finance team as a Budget and Management Accountant. In this critical role, you will be responsible for producing annual budgets and forecasts, monitoring expenditure as a cost controller, and translating complex financial data into actionable insights to support business growth and value maximization.
Key Responsibilities- Collate budget inputs, collaborate with budget holders, and produce annual budgets and four-year forecasts in alignment with business plans.
- Manage monthly budget performance reporting, analyze variances, and provide strategic financial advice on cost optimization.
- Provide budget clearance for expenditures, coordinate variance reviews, and assist with year-end outlooks and fund virements.
- Support budget holders with monthly Value of Work Done (VOWD) assessments, cost reallocations, and accrual reconciliations.
- Prepare comprehensive monthly management reports, quarterly accounts, and annual financial statements for stakeholders and the Board.
- Administer cash call funding processes and coordinate rigorous cost verification exercises with vessel owners and contractors.
- Develop segment financial reports and financial models to evaluate business profitability and costings for new maritime initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline with a minimum of Second-Class Upper (2:1).
- Professional accounting certification such as ICAN, ACCA, CIMA, or CFA.
- Minimum of 5 years of post-graduation experience in a finance-related role, preferably within the maritime or logistics industry.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, cost accounting, and advanced data analysis.
