About the Role
Mater Dei Secondary School, DDL, Awkuzu is a esteemed Catholic Mission Secondary School managed by the Daughters of Divine Love Congregation. Located in Umudioka-Awkuzu along Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Road, our institution is dedicated to the all-round development of young girls, catering to their academic, spiritual, physical, moral, and social needs. We are currently seeking a passionate, qualified, and dedicated Biology Teacher to inspire the next generation of female leaders through engaging and rigorous science education.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Biology lessons in accordance with the approved Nigerian and secondary school curriculum.
- Create a stimulating, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that encourages student participation and critical thinking.
- Conduct regular practical laboratory sessions to complement theoretical biological concepts and foster hands-on scientific inquiry.
- Assess, monitor, and record student progress, providing constructive feedback and organizing remedial sessions where necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and behavioral development.
- Participate actively in school extracurricular activities, staff meetings, and professional development programs.
- Uphold the moral, ethical, and Catholic values of the institution while mentoring students under our care.
- Possession of an HND, B.Ed, B.A, or B.Sc in Biology or a closely related field of study.
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years of cognate teaching experience in a recognized secondary school setting.
- Strong passion for teaching young girls and commitment to holistic student development.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
- Willingness to relocate or reside within the school premises in Awkuzu, Anambra State.
