About the Role
The African Medical Centre of Excellence (AMCE) Abuja is a premier 500-bed specialty hospital offering world-class diagnostics, treatment, research, and education. Developed by Afreximbank in clinical partnership with Kings College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, we are expanding our allied health team and seeking a dedicated Audiologist. In this role, you will provide comprehensive diagnostic, rehabilitative, and preventive hearing and balance services for both adult and paediatric patients, ensuring exceptional, patient-centred care for communities across the African continent.
Key Responsibilities- Perform advanced adult and paediatric diagnostic audiological evaluations, including pure-tone audiometry, tympanometry, and otoacoustic emissions.
- Conduct specialised electrophysiological and vestibular assessments for patients presenting with hearing loss, tinnitus, or balance disorders.
- Select, programme, fit, verify, and review hearing aids and assistive listening devices using evidence-based protocols.
- Develop individualised aural rehabilitation plans and provide supportive counselling to patients and their families.
- Collaborate closely with ENT surgeons, paediatricians, neurologists, and multidisciplinary teams within a tertiary healthcare environment.
- Maintain equipment calibration, infection control standards, and accurate clinical documentation in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
- Bachelor's degree in Audiology, Speech Therapy and Audiology, or an approved equivalent qualification.
- Current registration with the Medical Rehabilitation Therapists Board of Nigeria (MRTB) and a valid practising licence.
- Minimum of 5 years of post-qualification clinical audiology experience within a reputable hospital setting.
- Proven expertise in diagnostic testing, hearing aid fittings, and patient-centred rehabilitative care.
