About the Role
The Federal University of Allied Health Sciences, Enugu (FUAHSE), established on March 14, 2024, is rapidly growing to address Nigeria's healthcare manpower needs. Emerging from the former Federal College of Dental Technology and Therapy, the university now features six faculties and 17 departments. We are currently seeking a dynamic and dedicated Assistant News Editor to join our vibrant academic community and drive our media, public relations, and editorial operations forward.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in gathering, writing, editing, and publishing news stories, press releases, and official university publications.
- Proofread and polish articles, newsletters, and digital content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and adherence to editorial standards.
- Collaborate with various university departments and faculties to highlight research breakthroughs, academic achievements, and campus events.
- Manage the dissemination of information across official university communication channels and local media outlets.
- Support the senior editorial team in planning and executing comprehensive public relations and media strategy campaigns.
- Applicants must possess a relevant Bachelor's degree or equivalent academic and professional qualifications in Mass Communication, Journalism, English, or a related field.
- Demonstrated professional experience in news editing, journalism, or corporate communications, preferably within an educational or public sector environment.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with an impeccable eye for detail and grammar.
- Proven competence, professional integrity, and strong interpersonal communication skills.
