About the Role
The University of Benin (UNIBEN) is seeking a dedicated and academically driven professional to join our esteemed Department of Computing as an Assistant Lecturer in Software Engineering. Key Responsibilities- Deliver comprehensive lectures, seminars, and practical laboratory sessions in Software Engineering and related computing modules to undergraduate students.
- Develop, update, and evaluate course curriculum, learning materials, and assessment tools in line with National Universities Commission (NUC) standards.
- Supervise undergraduate student projects, dissertations, and academic field placements.
- Conduct high-impact research, publish findings in peer-reviewed academic journals, and actively participate in departmental and faculty conferences.
- Provide academic advising, mentorship, and career guidance to students to support their holistic development.
- Participate in departmental meetings, committee work, and university-wide administrative duties as assigned.
- Must hold a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of a Second-Class Upper Division in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
- Alternatively, candidates with a Second-Class Lower Division Bachelor's degree and a completed PhD in a relevant discipline will be considered.
- Must possess a Master's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related computing discipline.
- Must be currently enrolled in or actively pursuing a PhD, demonstrating clear progress towards completion.
- Must provide verifiable evidence of teaching potential, academic research, and scholarly publications.
