About the Role

Olam Agri is a market-leading, differentiated food, feed, and fiber agribusiness with a robust global origination footprint and deep understanding of emerging markets. We are currently seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Assistant Finance Manager to join our growing team in Nigeria. In this critical dual-focus role, you will manage financial operations from pre-commissioning project phases through to post-commissioning plant leadership, ensuring regulatory compliance, accurate financial reporting, and strong operational performance to support our strategic business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the project capex tracker, monitor all project expenditures, and provide comprehensive variance analysis against approved budgets.
  • Partner with Engineering, Procurement, and Project teams to track commitments, purchase orders, advances, and actual costs while ensuring adherence to the Delegation of Authority (DOA).
  • Monitor Capital Work-in-Progress (CWIP), prepare project finance dashboards, and support timely asset capitalization and project close-out activities.
  • Manage plant accounting activities, lead month-end close processes, and prepare timely Management Information System (MIS) reports.
  • Monitor manufacturing costs, perform operational variance analysis, and ensure strict adherence to accounting policies, SOPs, and statutory requirements.
  • Lead periodic inventory counts, conduct reconciliations, and analyze ageing, slow-moving, or obsolete stock to implement corrective action plans.
  • Coordinate fixed asset tagging, physical verifications, transfers, disposals, and ensure compliance with depreciation policies.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Must be a qualified Chartered Accountant and active member of ICAN (Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria).
  • 5 to 8 years of post-qualification experience within manufacturing, FMCG, agribusiness, or heavy industrial operations.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience working in Greenfield or Brownfield project environments.
  • Expertise in Capex Monitoring, Asset Capitalization, Plant Accounting, and Inventory Controls.
  • Proficiency in SAP S/4HANA (FI, CO, MM, Asset Accounting) and advanced Microsoft Excel.
