About the Role
HBM Nigeria Plc (Formerly Lafarge), a leading building solutions company in Sub-Saharan Africa, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Electrical Manager for our operations in Ashaka. In this pivotal role, you will support the Electrical Manager in maintaining the safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of all electrical systems and equipment across the plant, minimizing downtime and maximizing overall availability.
Key Responsibilities- Support the implementation of plant safety improvement plans by auditing electrical safety equipment and sensors.
- Plan, prioritize, and manage repair jobs for motors, transformers, switchgear, VFDs, and PLCs to meet production needs.
- Coordinate maintenance programs and shutdowns across the Quarry, VRM, Kiln, and Packing Plant with the Electrical Manager.
- Conduct root cause analysis on repeat electrical failures to prevent recurrence and reduce mean time to repair (MTTR).
- Manage manpower allocation, supervise third-party contractors, and drive team training and knowledge transfer.
- Monitor and control electrical consumables and spare parts stock levels to optimize operational costs.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant postgraduate experience, preferably within an integrated cement manufacturing plant.
- Strong working knowledge of industrial electrical and instrumentation systems.
- Basic understanding of automation and computer-aided systems for kiln and mill operations.
