We are currently seeking a dedicated Assistant Chief Laboratory Scientist to join our esteemed network in Nigeria. In this critical role, you will provide senior supervision of laboratory operations, support service leadership, oversee testing procedures, and uphold the highest standards of quality and biosafety.
Key Responsibilities- Provide senior supervision of daily laboratory operations, supporting service leadership in maintaining optimal workflows.
- Supervise laboratory testing and section work to guarantee adherence to rigorous standards and throughput targets.
- Support effective rostering, workload allocation, and skill-mix optimization across the team.
- Ensure strict biosafety compliance, conduct routine audits, and oversee quality assurance programs.
- Supervise, support, mentor, and appraise junior laboratory staff to foster professional growth.
- Manage incident escalation and maintain productive liaison with equipment vendors.
- Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS) from a recognized institution with completed national internship and NYSC, or valid exemption.
- Minimum of 8 years of post-registration experience in medical laboratory science, including proven experience at Principal grade or equivalent.
- Strong expertise in laboratory practice across multiple disciplines and robust knowledge of quality management systems.
- Specialty training or relevant professional certifications will be considered an added advantage.
