About the Role
Hapag-Lloyd AG, one of the world's leading container shipping companies with a vast global network, is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Area Manager Human Resources to join our team. In this strategic role, you will ensure an exceptional employee experience by delivering comprehensive HR operations, guiding country teams, and aligning human resources practices with our broader business goals across the region.
Key Responsibilities- Drive continuous improvement of HR processes, procedures, and policies to enhance operational efficiency and the overall employee experience.
- Train and mentor Country HR Coordinators to ensure consistent rollout and adherence to HR policies across the Area.
- Oversee the execution of core HR processes including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, talent management, payroll, and workforce planning.
- Analyze HR data and metrics to provide actionable insights, trends, and reports supporting strategic decision-making.
- Provide expert HR advisory services on complex employee relations matters, including disciplinary cases, grievances, and organizational restructuring.
- Ensure full compliance with local labor laws and corporate regulations across Central Africa.
- Support compensation and benefits administration, annual salary reviews, and payroll processing as the primary backup.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as an HR Generalist, with at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership capacity.
- Demonstrated experience working within a large, matrixed corporate organization.
- Relevant professional HR certifications will be considered a strong advantage.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French; working knowledge of Portuguese is an added plus.
- Strong data processing, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of labor laws and people practices across Central Africa.
