About the Role
Moniepoint is a leading financial technology company digitising Africa’s real economy by building a comprehensive financial ecosystem for businesses. We are seeking a skilled and proactive Application Security Engineer to join our dynamic security team in Nigeria. In this role, you will play a crucial part in safeguarding our digital assets, fortifying our web and mobile applications, and embedding security best practices into our development lifecycle to protect millions of users across the continent.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive security assessments, including manual and automated testing, to identify vulnerabilities in web and mobile applications.
- Collaborate closely with software development teams to integrate secure coding practices and design robust security architecture.
- Perform regular penetration testing to simulate real-world cyber threats and provide actionable remediation strategies.
- Actively participate in incident response activities, investigating and resolving application security incidents alongside cross-functional teams.
- Ensure application compliance with relevant financial and data security regulations, industry standards, and best practices.
- Manage, configure, and optimize security tools for continuous monitoring and proactive risk mitigation.
- Develop and deliver security awareness training programs to educate developers on emerging threats and secure coding principles.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field.
- Mandatory completion of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) or presentation of a valid exemption/exclusion certificate.
- Proven professional experience in application security, penetration testing, or a similar defensive security role.
- Deep understanding of web application architecture, cloud environments, and common security vulnerabilities such as the OWASP Top 10.
- Hands-on experience with security testing tools, methodologies, and secure coding frameworks.
- Relevant professional certifications such as OSCP, CEH, GPEN, CISSP, or equivalent are strongly preferred.
