About the Role
FairMoney is a leading digital financial platform in Nigeria, empowering millions of users to access instant loans and banking services in minutes through our flagship Android application. We are currently seeking a talented and driven Android Engineer to join our growing engineering team and help scale our mobile infrastructure to new heights. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of digital banking in Africa by creating seamless, reliable, and secure user experiences.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and test new features across the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for our core customer-facing Android application.
- Maintain high-quality standards across all codebases, ensuring optimal performance, responsiveness, and clean architecture.
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools effectively to accelerate delivery while maintaining rigorous quality control.
- Collaborate closely with backend, product, and design teams working across Ruby on Rails, Go, and Python microservices hosted on AWS.
- Engage in knowledge sharing, code reviews, and mentorship to help elevate junior developers on the team.
- 4+ years of professional experience in native Android application development.
- 4+ years of hands-on coding proficiency in Kotlin and Java.
- 2+ years of experience utilizing pair programming, Test-Driven Development (TDD), and thorough code reviews.
- 2+ years of experience writing Unit Tests, Instrumented Tests, and End-to-End Tests.
- Demonstrated expertise in multi-module apps, Clean Architecture, Jetpack Compose, and Coroutines or RxJava.
