About the Role
Payzeep is a leading digital financial platform empowering individuals, SMEs, and organizations to seamlessly make, receive, and process payments. We are looking for an experienced Android Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team in Lagos, Nigeria. In this role, you will architect, build, and scale high-performance mobile applications that drive our innovative fintech products, ensuring secure transactions and exceptional user experiences for millions of users across Africa.
Key Responsibilities- Design, build, and maintain robust features for the Payzeep Android application using Kotlin and Java.
- Integrate with backend REST/GraphQL APIs, third-party payment gateways, and banking systems.
- Implement advanced mobile security practices, including data encryption, secure storage, certificate pinning, and PCI-DSS compliance.
- Ensure application data handling strictly complies with the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023 and Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) regulations.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code utilizing Unit, UI, and Integration testing frameworks.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, UI/UX Designers, QA Engineers, and Backend teams in an agile environment.
- Manage end-to-end application releases through the Google Play Store and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines.
- Monitor production app performance, diagnose issues, and optimize for speed and scalability.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 7+ years of professional Android application development experience.
- At least 5+ years building secure mobile applications within the fintech or heavily regulated financial services sector.
- Deep proficiency in Kotlin, Java, and the Android SDK.
- Strong understanding of mobile security standards, API integrations, and version control workflows.
