About the Role
Turnkey Africa Ltd is the leading pan-African insurance and bancassurance technology and services provider. We develop, supply, and manage end-to-end insurance business software solutions and services for the African insurance industry, currently serving over 42 clients across 7 countries. We are looking for an ambitious AI Engineer to join our Evolve team in building cutting-edge, AI-enabled features that transform insurance operations.
Key Responsibilities- Implement clearly scoped Python components, scripts, and integrations exposed to Evolve services through agreed APIs.
- Prepare and validate approved datasets for development and evaluation, ensuring high labelling quality.
- Integrate model or LLM APIs into Evolve workflows, supporting prompt configuration and response validation.
- Create and run repeatable evaluation cases covering typical, edge, and failure scenarios.
- Investigate unreliable outputs and escalation quality, safety, or data concerns to senior engineers.
- Support deployment and monitoring while adhering to approved privacy and security practices.
- A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical training.
- Foundational Python programming skills demonstrated through coursework, internships, or personal projects.
- Basic understanding of machine learning concepts, evaluation metrics, and RESTful APIs.
- Familiarity with Git, automated testing, and debugging within existing codebases.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
- Clear growth path to Associate AI Engineer based on performance and business needs.
