About the Role
Robeck Locks Ltd has been a trusted name since 2001, providing stylish, high-quality, and durable locksets and accessories at affordable prices to construction companies and the retail trade. We are currently looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Assistant / Internal Control Officer to join our dynamic finance team in Lagos and ensure financial integrity across our locations.
Key Responsibilities- Record daily financial transactions and maintain organised supporting documents.
- Check branch sales records against cash collections, POS payments, and bank transfers.
- Assist with bank reconciliations and follow up promptly on discrepancies.
- Review expenses, petty cash, invoices, and payment documents for accuracy and proper authorization.
- Carry out regular branch visits and spot checks on cash, stock, and compliance with company procedures.
- Verify stock receipts, transfers, returns, and adjustments, and assist with physical stock counts.
- Identify and promptly report shortages, irregularities, and control weaknesses to management.
- Prepare straightforward accounting and internal control reports, following up on corrective actions.
- OND, HND, or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- 1 to 2 years of relevant professional experience in accounting, audit, or internal control.
- Good working knowledge of basic accounting, reconciliations, and stock control.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with prior experience using accounting or inventory software as an added advantage.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and sound report-writing abilities.
- High integrity, confidentiality, and the confidence to report discrepancies objectively.
- Willingness to travel between various branches within Lagos.
- Prior experience in the retail, wholesale, or distribution sector is a strong advantage.
