We are currently seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant (Financial Reporting) to join our team. In this role, you will ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting for our diverse operations spanning oil and gas, waste management, environmental consultancy, petroleum products marketing, pollution control, haulage, and marine services. You will play a vital role in supporting strategic decision-making by delivering reliable financial insights and maintaining strict adherence to regulatory frameworks.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in full compliance with IFRS and relevant Nigerian regulatory standards.
- Ensure strict adherence to national tax laws, petroleum industry regulations, and specialized environmental financial reporting requirements.
- Liaise effectively with external auditors and regulatory bodies during statutory audits and routine compliance checks.
- Support executive management in preparing comprehensive budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analyses across multiple business units.
- Monitor and control operational costs within petroleum supply, waste management, and marine services to drive organizational efficiency.
- Develop, implement, and enforce robust internal controls to thoroughly safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks.
- Utilize advanced accounting software and ERP systems to streamline and optimize financial reporting processes.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in financial reporting, with a strong background in oil and gas or related heavy industries.
- Mandatory active professional certification such as ACA, ACCA, or CPA.
- Comprehensive knowledge of IFRS, Nigerian tax legislation, and petroleum industry regulatory frameworks.
